Never a dull moment in Squamish! It was great to see all the vendors and families out last weekend for the brackendale fall fair! We will definitely be back next year!
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend and had an amazing transition back into the school year! It’s such a busy time of year so finding the time to get outside can be more difficult, but just as important. Luckily, our backyard is filled with options like these to keep us active!

When returning from an injury, it can be quite overwhelming on your mind and body. With all the amazing trails in our backyard, we know how hard it can be to take a break. When you are ready, hiking poles can be a great tool to get you back out there when recovering from ankle or knee injuries.
It has been shown that using walking poles will reduce the stress on the feet, legs, knees and back by sharing the load more evenly across the whole body. In other words, it reduces the impact of hiking on knee joints and leg muscles. Arm and shoulder muscles support and relieve the leg muscles.
Other benefits include: * Protect knees, especially when walking down steep hills * Improve your power and endurance when walking uphill * Aid balance on uneven trails * Improve posture, making you more upright as you walk and in turn this can help breathing * Increase speed, especially going downhill * Provide extra stability * Reduce fatigue and improve endurance * Strengthen muscles that support the spine * Build muscles in arms, shoulders and neck * The position necessitated by the poles ( hands above the heart) can allow for circulation to improve and reduce your heart rate
What a great weekend in Squamish! Big thanks to @arcteryxacademy for the great event and @moontricks_music for the unreal show!
