Custom Orthotics
Peak Integrated Health works with Orthogenic Labratories who specialized in a complete line of functional EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) orthotics. EVA is a dynamic, responsive material that promotes the natural motions of the foot and ankle during gait. Their kinetic orthotics are precision crafted using state-of-the-art German Engineered CAD/CAM technology to provide limitless options for correcting biomechanical alignment.
What Are EVA orthotics
New full contact German engineered orthotics, utilizing the same technology found inside the soles of highperformance running shoes New Balance and Asics.
Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA) is a shock attenuating material made of millions of air-filled encapsulated foam cells
As you apply weight to the foot there is a certain amount of ‘give’ in the orthotic, providing shock absorption to the feet, ankle, knee, hip and back. This makes the device much more comfortable and natural compared to plastic.
Benefits of EVA orthotics
Hypoallergenic, odour-resistant, low-temperature toughness, stress-crack resistant and water proof properties
Half the weight of plastic orthotics; longer lifespan in shoes; shock absorbing properties for extra comfort;
Encourages more natural and controlled forefoot strike
Works efficiently with the shoe and will not crack or tear
Will help react to any terrain and release energy to create efficient push-off which makes it feel as if you have a spring of extra cushioning and support inside the shoe.
EVA vs. Plastic Orthotics
Unlike plastics orthotics EVA provides impact absorption for force up to 3x your body weight, maintaining support and function underneath the foot
Lighter and more shock-absorbing material than plastics
Higher compliance in footwear; no chemical omissions
Hypo-allergenic, water resistant, antimicrobial material which does not retain or omit odours
Same lifespan as shells; top cover on orthotics less prone to peeling off EVA than plastic
3D Occiptical Scanner
Non-weight bearing 3D volumetric cast of both feet are created using an infrared structured light scanner with Orthogenic Lab’s Occipital Structure Sensor.
The resulting image is then skived via our CAD modeling software, where the necessary adjustments and corrections are made.
Upon completion of the digital modeling process by the Pedorthist, the information is sent to a Precision CAD/CAM Carving Mill to produce the orthotic.
A top cover is glued to the orthotic and trimmed to fit.
Orthotic information
Full foot, Full Contact
Unlike hard shell orthotics, EVA orthotics allow for corrective components throughout the entire gait cycle, not just heel strike and mid stance.
Functional, Shock attenuating material:
EVA is a closed cell material that when compressed, will spring back to its original shape. This property allows for maximal shock absorbtion as well as energy returning properties which promote biomechanical correction with each step.
Leading material Used in Running Shoes and Orthopedic Footwear:
Shoe giants like new balance, Asics, aand Saucony have spent millions on R&D of the most effective EVA materials for their footwear. EVA orthotics work better with the shoe and its intended benefits vs plastics which often negate these properties.
Lightweight and Comfortable Orthotic:
Incredibly light, durable and shock absorbing material. The natural shock absorbing properties of EVA make it an easy choice for patients with foot pain or those looking for relief from hard, man-made surfaces. Ideal for active patients or those who spend long working hours on their feet.
